Local farmer and Reliance Foundation join together to achieve better yields through technological advancement

Sandeep explained that farming and animal husbandry are his main sources of livelihood. He told he faced some or the other problem in the past which caused him considerable losses in the cultivation of different crops as he could never get the remedial advice in the required time. He told he used to spray pesticides purchased from the local shops on the crops several times but the desired outcome was never achieved. He used to spent enough money on the pesticides but then also did not get desirable results. Thus he always faced losses in his farming. Sandeep had sown gram crops in his 2-acre field whose flowers were withering off and also getting infested with pests. He then called Reliance Foundation's helpline number 1800-419-8800 and explained his problem. The Scientist of Reliance Foundation advised spraying of 150 ml of indexacarb per 150 litres of water on the gram crops in his field. He sprayed pesticides solution as advised by the Scientist and in some time both the problems of the withering of flowers and pest infestation were resolved. This led to the production of healthy harvest in good amount. He told if he could not get the right advice in time from the Scientist then his crop production would have been very low as in previous years. He told that last year when he was not associated with Reliance Foundation the production of only 6 quintals gram was achieved in 2-acre field. This year after following the suggestion of Reliance Foundation, a total of 12 quintals of gram was produced in his fields which was 6 quintals more than the previous year. In this way, he earned an extra profit of 30000 rupees at the rate of 5000 rupees per quintal.
