Mohan Kushwaha, aged 61 years, resident of village Durgasthan, Post Mehroor, Tehsil Kasimabad, District Ghazipur, tells he benefited in goat farming through technical assistance provided by Reliance Foundation.

Mohan told that being an ordinary farmer, his main source of income was farming and animal husbandry and these were the only means of livelihood of his family. He explained that he used to get good profits by selling goats as quite less money was invested in buying them.

Mohan told he owned four goats. His two goats were not able to pass urine properly. They were passing urine intermittently and also could not empty their bladders completely. Due to this problem, the goats were not eating their fodder properly and becoming weak day by day and he was not getting appropriate price for his goats in the market. He told he tried some home remedies to cure goat's illness but it did not help. In the meantime, he received information about Jiochat program being organised by Reliance Foundation. He participated in that program on 16 October 2019 and consulted veterinarian Dr Kripashankar Singh regarding the illness of his goats. The veterinarian prescribed five tablets each of Lasix and Systone every morning and evening for his goats. He bought prescribed medicines from the market and gave them to his goats. After taking the medicines, the goats started feeling better and in few days, they also started passing urine properly.

Mohan told he was facing problem earlier in selling his weak goats as no one was offering more than 8000 rupees for them in the market which was a very less price. He further told his two healthy goats were later sold for 12000 rupees and thus he earned an extra profit of 4000 rupees which could be made possible only with the help of Reliance Foundation.

Mohan Kushwaha thanked Reliance Foundation from the bottom of his heart for having organised a program through which he received help in earning a decent profit in his goat farming. He told he now considers Reliance foundation's toll free helpline number 1800-419-8800 as his strong aid through which he keeps taking help for problems related to animal husbandry, farming and weather.
