Rohit-s Remarkable Success Story with the aid of Reliance Foundation

Rohit Kumar, aged 25 years, resident of village Sulemabad, district Barabanki, is a simple farmer who gained unexpected profits in potato farming with the help of Reliance foundation.
Rohit told he mainly grew potatoes in his fields during the season of Rabi crops. In the month of January, due to intense cold and fungus, the potato plants caught brown rust disease. This problem was affecting the growth of potatoes badly. Rohit tried many options but all in vain. His problem was worsening day by day and potato plants seemed to be on the verge of destruction.
Rohit told, fortunately, a Live YouTube program was organised by Reliance foundation in which a Scientist Dr. D. K. Singh of Gazipur Krishi Vigyan Kendra was invited to solve the farming-related problems through Live interaction with the farmers. Rohit also participated in this Live program and shared his problem with the scientist who advised him to spray in his fields of Potato plants a solution of 1 gm Ridomil fungicide in 1 litter water. Rohit told he sprayed fungicide, without any further delay, in his potato fields and eventually, the brown rust disease got cured in approximately 10 days. A total of 75 quintal potatoes were produced in his 3 Bigha fields in comparison to last year's production of 60 quintals. Thus, he achieved an unexpected increase of 15 quintals in potato’s production this year. Rohit told he was not expecting more than 40 quintal potatoes but actually got 75 quintals. Thus he managed to produce 35 extra quintals of potatoes with the help of Reliance foundation.
Rohit told he sold around 40 quintal potatoes in February at the rate of 1300 rupees per quintal amounting to a total of 52000 rupees and stored remaining quantity of potatoes in cold storage safely which will be sold at an appropriate price in future.
Rohit further told it was a major contribution of Reliance Foundation in the profit of rupees 45500 which he gained by selling extra 35 quintals of potatoes.
